Less of Moore, Please

Judge Moore, just go away.

I knew he would embarass Christianity--he has made a career out of it. I hoped it would simply be his continuing repulsive shtick of playing the persecuted righteous man who will place the 10 Commandments on his courthouse wall no matter who tells him he can't (because that's what Jesus would do.)

No, as I'm sure you are aware, it's far worse than that. Also vomit-inducing are those seeking to defend him. Christianity Today has a good article on this sordid topic. It includes:
Alabama Marion County GOP chair David Hall told a reporter, "It was 40 years ago, I really don't see the relevance of it. He was 32. She was supposedly 14. She's not saying that anything happened other than they kissed… It wouldn't affect whether or not I'd vote for him.”
The then child, now woman is claiming more than just a kiss, although a 32 year old kissing a 14 year old is bad enough.

David Hall, just shut up.
Alabama State Auditor Jim Zeigler, who told the Washington Examiner“Take Joseph and Mary. Mary was a teenager and Joseph was an adult carpenter. They became the parents of Jesus… There’s just nothing immoral or illegal here. Maybe just a little bit unusual.”
Jim Ziegler, just shut up.

Sigh.

Example (217-1) of the truth: Atheists can't harm Christianity. Muslims can't harm Christianity. The government can't harm Christianity Only Christians can harm Christianity.

  1. "Innocent until proven otherwise", these accusations are very convenient for some group of people.
What happen to the if Moore is not guilty? What should happen to the accusers, what they deserve?
Be careful with your prejudice it could cost you your honor and credibility.
And: Christianity is not a conscious agent to feel embarrassed. Christians cannot truly harm Christianity they like the atheists and the muslims can only harm the people that are christians.

  2. Miguel,

You may be right, and at some point Roy Moore may be owed an apology regarding the recent accusations. The older accusations that that he uses in-you-face evangelicalism not for spreading the gospel but rather to advance his political ambitions are, however, well documented.

As an aside, legally speaking the idea of "innocent until proven otherwise" applies, in any given circumstance, only to exactly twelve people: a jury. Nobody else is required to assume innocence. Obviously the police, for example, could not arrest anyone if they had to assume innocence.

  3. "innocent until proven otherwise"
    - That is a principle for the application of tha law not any specific law. Any methodology about the utilitariam use of the law is extra.

    David:
"... The older accusations that that he uses in-you-face evangelicalism not for spreading the gospel but rather to advance his political ambitions are, however, well documented. ..."
    - But those accusations cannot ruin his life and name forever.

"...As an aside, legally speaking the idea of "innocent until proven otherwise" applies, in any given circumstance, only to exactly twelve people: a jury. Nobody else is required to assume innocence. Obviously the police, for example, could not arrest anyone if they had to assume innocence."
    - Then, if you really think that way, you should have HONOR and never accuse any other being of wrong doing if the reason is that you think you don't have any authority at all or any will, only when you obtain say authority you will have the RIGHT to accuse.

    - Nobody should never follow a law because is labeled law.
