Throw the book at 'em...

Take away their tax exempt status.

There is only one way civil disobedience deserves respect and, perhaps, sympathy: when there are consequences.

There should be a price to pay when you are privileged to be a pastor--in many respects God's greatest calling--and you chuck it down the toilet of politics.

One of the pastors politicians, the Rev. Ron Johnson Jr., argued (according to the linked Washington Post article), that he must connect the dots because he is not sure that all members of his congregation can do so on their own.

Oh brother. Calling your congregation dummies should get you ridden out of town on a rail.
