Call for Astonishing Verses

I am conducting a survey on the most astonishing verses in scripture. You may use your own definition of "astonishing". After some consideration, here is one that I’ll offer. Jesus, when He is explaining why He speaks in parables, said:

so that, " 'they [those on the outside] may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!'" (Mark 4:12, NIV)
